Dependence of Material Properties on Sample Parameters

One or more PRAP analysed resonance files can be added to a PRAP compound file (of extension '.PZC'). This allows the dependence of material properties on the aspect ratio, sample dimension, or density to be studied.

To study the effect of sample dimensions or density;

  1. Open a new compound file with the 'New Compound File' command of the File menu.

  2. Using the 'Add PZF File' command of the File menu, add the spectra you wish to study.

  3. Ensure that each spectrum has been analysed. You can do this by displaying each included resonance scan with the 'Display Resonance Scan' menu command from the Window menu.

  4. Selected the 'Display Axes' command of the Window menu.

  5. For the x-axis, select the sample dimension aspect ratio, dimension, or density to be the dependent variable.

  6. For the y-axis, select the material property to be studied. The list of available properties is limited to those available from the analysed resonance spectra included in the compound file.

  7. Select 'OK'. The real and imaginary parts of the selected property will be plotted as a function of the selected sample dimension, aspect ratio, or density.

  8. The results can be copied to another Windows application with the Copy command of the File menu.
