ZAP Data Acquisition Modules

The Basic Data Acquisition Module permits the fully integrated collection of resonance spectra into ZAP directly from a variety of impedance analysers. Measurement control is enhanced by support of temperature controllers and the passive monitoring of thermocouples, stress controllers, and DC bias controllers or high voltage power supplies.

Additional data acquisition modules utilize the PRAP Compound file to automate collection of a set of spectra as a function of measurement parameters such as DC bias, temperature, time, etc. The additional optional data acquisition modules require the Basic Data Acquisition Module.

Module

Description

Basic Data Acquisition

Includes drivers for instruments, and capability of performing single frequency scans of specimens. Follow this link for a list of instruments supported by the Basic Data Acquisition Module.

Bias

Collects a set of resonance spectra as a function of DC bias. Automatically adds spectra to a compound file for studies of the effect of DC bias on material properties.

Time

Collects a set of resonance spectra as a function of time. Automatically adds spectra to a compound file for studies of the effect of ageing and time on material properties.

Temperature

Collects a set of resonance spectra as a function of temperature. Automatically adds spectra to a compound file for studies of the effect of temperature on material properties.

Features

Some of the following features are available with the various optional data acquisition modules.

  • Study time dependencies through ageing or time response to DC bias field.

  • Study temperature dependencies.

  • Study the DC bias field of electrostrictive or ferroelectric materials.
